Before Lewis & Clark. The Pacific Beyond the Alleghenies. Originally published in by John Farrer, a representative of the Virginia Company, this edition was issued by Farrer's daughter, Virginia. This edition of Jefferson's only published book is the first published in the United States. It raced through nineteen editions in. We were beckoned to visit this place by a historical sign on a country road and found something pretty awesome, St. Patrick's Log Cabin Church. This church dates back to and was built by Irish Immigrants. Located in Sugarcreek Township, Armstrong County, it is said to be the oldest remaining catholic church building west of the Alleghenies.
